# Overview of trade dashboard
Add the Trade Dashboard to Shopify customer accounts, configure it in Trade Settings, and understand how working orders behave.
Use the Trade Dashboard to let B2B customers build orders inside Shopify customer accounts.
Customers can browse eligible products, adjust quantities, and build an order from inside their account. That order becomes a working order in Shopify until it is submitted for review.
The Trade Dashboard and Quotes view now share one block with a tab switcher. Customers can browse products and review their quotes in one place.
#### What the Trade Dashboard does
The Trade Dashboard gives trade customers a self-serve ordering experience inside their account area.
It works well when customers need product visibility, pricing context, and an order builder before final review.
Behind the scenes, the customer is building a working order.
#### How pricing is inherited
The Trade Dashboard does not create a separate pricing system.
It inherits the pricing context already set on the store.
Pricing display can come from:
* Shopify companies and the customer account linked to that company
* Shopify B2B catalogs and catalog pricing rules
* Roadmap wholesale pricing from the discount engine
The same customer can see different pricing depending on their company setup, catalog assignment, and Roadmap pricing rules.
#### Add the dashboard to customer accounts
You add the block in Shopify. You then configure its behavior in the Roadmap app.

#### Open the theme editor
In Shopify, go to **Online Store → Themes → Customize**.

#### Open customer accounts
Switch to **Checkout and customer accounts**.
Then open your customer accounts layout.

#### Add the Trade Dashboard block
Add the **Trade Dashboard** through **Header → Menu → Edit → Add menu item → Apps**.

#### Save your changes
Save the layout once the block is in the right place.

#### Configure the dashboard in Trade Settings
The block self-populates once it is added.
Open the Roadmap app, then go to **Settings → Trade Settings → Trade Dashboard**.

The main settings are split into focused sections:
* **Header & tabs** — set the page title and the text above each tab. See [Set the Trade Portal header, titles & tabs](/trade-and-b2b/overview-of-trade-dashboard/set-the-trade-portal-header-titles-and-tabs.md).
* **Display** — control terminology, image size, compare-at pricing, paging, and the product subtitle. See [Customize how products display on the Trade Dashboard](/trade-and-b2b/overview-of-trade-dashboard/customize-how-products-display-on-the-trade-dashboard.md).

* **Access & quote builder** — restrict the dashboard to tagged customers, choose what **Confirm Order** does, and control discounts and notes. See [Configure Trade Dashboard access and quote builder](/trade-and-b2b/overview-of-trade-dashboard/configure-trade-dashboard-access-and-quote-builder.md).

#### Access: who can see the dashboard
Under **Access**, set a **Customer eligibility tag**.
Only customers tagged with it can open the dashboard. Leave it blank to allow all eligible customers.

If you set an eligibility tag and the preview disappears, the preview is simulating an ineligible customer.
Remove the tag temporarily if you need to preview the block.

#### What customers see
Customers only see the products available to them.
That depends on their company access, catalog setup, pricing setup, and eligibility rules.
For each product, the dashboard can show:
* the unit price
* an optional compare-at price or `RRP`
* the line total
If a product has variants, customers expand the row and choose the option there.
#### How working orders behave
When a customer starts an order from the Trade Dashboard, Roadmap generates a working order in Shopify.
That draft stays open while the customer is still building it. This gives both your team and the customer visibility while the order is in progress.

#### Create the Roadmap: Working Order view
Create a saved Shopify draft order view so your team can find working orders quickly.

#### Open draft orders
In Shopify, go to **Orders → Drafts**.

#### Filter by status
Set **Status** to **Open**.

Set **Tagged with** to `roadmap-quote-open`.

Save the view as **Roadmap: Working Order**.

#### How styling works
The Trade Dashboard inherits colors and fonts from your Shopify customer-account branding.
Use Shopify branding settings when you need visual changes.
#### Best practice before launch
Test the dashboard with a real B2B customer account before you go live.
Check that:
* the customer can see the dashboard
* pricing and compare-at values are correct
* the right products appear
* search and filters behave as expected
* the working order is created correctly and stays open until submission
