# Does Shopify POS support B2B catalog pricing?

Shopify POS does not apply Shopify B2B catalog pricing, volume pricing, quantity rules, payment terms, or company pricing logic. Use draft orders for in-person wholesale sales.

Last verified against Shopify: May 5, 2026

Shopify POS does not support Shopify B2B catalog pricing.

Direct testing confirms that Shopify POS uses standard direct-to-consumer pricing for every sale. This stays true even when a B2B company customer is attached to the order.

If you need wholesale pricing and terms for an in-person sale, create the order in Shopify admin as a draft order.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Treat Shopify POS as a retail channel.

Do not expect Shopify B2B catalog pricing or company order terms to carry into POS automatically.
{% endhint %}

Use this guide to jump to the part you need:

### What does not carry into Shopify POS

When you ring up a sale in Shopify POS, these B2B features do not apply automatically:

* **Catalog prices** and **custom fixed prices**
* **Volume pricing**
* **Quantity rules** such as minimums, maximums, and increments
* **Payment terms** tied to the company location
* **Company-linked tax exemptions** and other company order logic

In practice, this means the POS cart uses the product's normal retail price.

It does not switch to the company's B2B catalog just because the customer record is attached.

### Where Shopify B2B pricing does work

Shopify B2B pricing is designed for the online store and Shopify admin workflows.

Use this as the quick rule:

* **Online store with a logged-in B2B customer** — supported
* **Shopify admin draft order for the correct company location** — supported
* **Shopify POS** — not supported

If wholesale prices show correctly online but not in POS, the catalog is usually fine.

That points to a POS limitation, not a market or catalog setup issue.

### Why Shopify POS behaves this way

Shopify scopes B2B features around companies, customer accounts, catalogs, storefront pricing, checkout, and admin order workflows.

Shopify documents that model in these guides:

* [Shopify B2B overview](https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/b2b)
* [Catalogs and pricing in Shopify B2B](https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/b2b/catalogs)
* [Requirements and considerations for Shopify B2B](https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/b2b/getting-started/considerations)
* [Shopify B2B features by plan](https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/b2b/getting-started/plan-features)

Shopify does not publish a help article that states this POS limitation in one line.

But the documented B2B scope stays focused on the online store and admin. Direct testing confirms that POS falls back to standard retail pricing.

### Recommended workaround: use a draft order

This is the safest option for wholesale orders placed in person.

Use it when you need the company's real pricing, quantity logic, payment terms, or tax treatment to stay intact.

Shopify documents this workflow here: [Create B2B draft orders](https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/b2b/draft-orders).

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

#### Start the order in Shopify admin

Open the company or company location in Shopify admin.

Create the order there instead of starting in POS.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Make sure the correct company location is attached

This is what lets Shopify apply the right catalog and company settings.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Add products and confirm the order details

Check the pricing, quantity breaks, order rules, payment terms, and tax handling before sending the order.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Send the invoice or collect payment through the draft-order flow

This keeps the sale inside Shopify's supported B2B workflow.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

{% hint style="info" %}
For trade shows, showrooms, and pop-ups, this is the cleanest way to preserve wholesale logic without rekeying prices manually.
{% endhint %}

### Other options for in-person B2B sales

#### Apply manual discounts in Shopify POS

This is fast, but it is easy to get wrong.

Use it only when staff already know the correct price or discount.

Keep these limits in mind:

* staff must calculate or choose the wholesale discount manually
* quantity rules and volume breaks still do not enforce automatically
* payment terms still do not carry through the POS sale

### If wholesale prices are not showing in Shopify POS

This is expected when the same products show the correct prices online for a logged-in B2B customer.

Check these points in order:

1. Confirm the customer sees the correct price on the online store.
2. Confirm the customer is linked to the correct company location.
3. Confirm the product is in the correct B2B catalog.
4. If all three checks pass, treat the missing POS price as a channel limitation.

If the price is wrong online too, fix the B2B setup first.

### How this affects Roadmap

Roadmap uses the same Shopify B2B foundation.

That means the same POS limitation applies to any B2B pricing or company logic that Roadmap helps configure.

If Shopify POS does not inherit the company's B2B catalog, Roadmap cannot force that catalog into the POS sale.

For in-person wholesale selling, Roadmap recommends staying inside Shopify's supported B2B path and using draft orders.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.roadmap.so/trade-and-b2b/getting-started/does-shopify-pos-support-b2b-catalog-pricing.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
