# How the Universal Styler works

Style every Roadmap block at once. Set your brand colors, border radius, card style, and spacing in the Universal Styler and apply them to all loyalty, reviews, and cart widgets.

The **Universal Styler** gives every Roadmap block one shared visual identity. Set your brand colors and layout preferences once, click **Apply to all**, and every widget across loyalty, reviews, and cart inherits them. It's the fastest path from install to on-brand.\
\
We recommend using the Styler to set a solid foundation of the widgets, then proceed with finer tweaks within each widget.

### Open the Universal Styler

Click **Universal Styler** at the top of the **Loyalty Program**, **Reviews**, or **Subscriptions** page. It opens as a full-screen modal: settings on the left, a live block preview on the right.

### Set your brand identity

<figure><img src="https://393112916-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FJ8asLD4FVCFagK40xEr4%2Fuploads%2Ffr3kDkY1BwvLa8ltGtgL%2FScreenshot%202026-09-02%20at%201.27.21%E2%80%AFPM.png?alt=media&#x26;token=7057a514-cf77-437a-9514-225ea621e153" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Two groups of settings drive everything:

**Color Identity**

* **Brand Color**: your primary color, pushed into buttons, badges, and highlights.
* **Background Color**: the base surface behind blocks and cards.
* **Text Color**: primary copy color.
* **Accent Color**: secondary emphasis, used for hovers and applied states.

**Spatial & Typography**

* **Border Radius**: Sharp, Soft, Rounded, or Pill.
* **Card Style**: Outlined, Filled, or Subtle.
* **Font Size**: S, M, or L.
* **Spacing Density**: Compact, Default, or Relaxed.

### Preview any block

Use the dropdown at the top of the modal to preview any Roadmap block with your settings applied: the loyalty blocks (Banner, Ways to Earn, Ways to Redeem, Product Redeemer, Customer Rewards, Progress Bar, Referrals, FAQs, Points Earned, Cart Redeemer, and the legacy-accounts Dashboard), the Reviews PDP block and Reviews Form, and the Cart blocks (Recommended Products, Free Shipping Bar, Announcement Bar). A **Logged in / Logged out** toggle shows both states.

<figure><img src="https://393112916-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FJ8asLD4FVCFagK40xEr4%2Fuploads%2FOQfoC56UAC1RBdkhMJyF%2FScreenshot%202026-09-02%20at%202.25.02%E2%80%AFPM.png?alt=media&#x26;token=7da0297a-b077-4f4e-b4f0-b2baf870393e" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="info" %}
The preview shows the **Styler's settings only**. If you've made manual edits inside an individual widget, those overrides are not reflected in this preview. Click **More options** to jump to that widget's individual editor and see it as configured.
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="info" %}
The **Product Subscription** widget is joining the Universal Styler shortly. Until then, style it from **Subscriptions → Edit Subscription Widget**.
{% endhint %}

### Apply to all

Click **Apply to all** and the Styler pushes your settings into every block. A confirmation tells you exactly what happened, for example: *Updated 388 fields across 17 widgets. 13 customised fields preserved.*

<figure><img src="https://393112916-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FJ8asLD4FVCFagK40xEr4%2Fuploads%2FaWBGqm3yoZeETCcntyYf%2FScreenshot%202026-09-02%20at%202.26.02%E2%80%AFPM.png?alt=media&#x26;token=bbc8cedf-04a9-4708-9a50-cb9b3e3f658c" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### Styler fields vs Edited fields

Inside each individual widget editor (found in the 'more options' tab in the universal editor or via the 'edit loyalty widgets' tab in the main loyalty dashboard), every field shows where its value came from:

* A blue **Styler** tag: the field inherits its value from the Universal Styler.
* A green **Edited** tag: the field was changed manually in that widget.

**Apply to all never overrides an Edited field.** Your deliberate one-off tweaks survive every re-apply, so the workflow is: set your base in the Universal Styler, then fine-tune individual widgets where needed.

<figure><img src="https://393112916-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FJ8asLD4FVCFagK40xEr4%2Fuploads%2FjKqBefmtBfHGjqSo18sv%2FScreenshot%202026-09-02%20at%201.30.13%E2%80%AFPM.png?alt=media&#x26;token=4e54f73d-674a-4b69-8786-a0a589fa94dd" alt="" width="375"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### Reset overrides

**Reset overrides** (in the modal header) removes **all** manual edits from every individual widget. After a reset, the next **Apply to all** updates every field, including ones you had previously customised in the widget editors. A confirmation modal explains this before anything happens.

<figure><img src="https://393112916-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FJ8asLD4FVCFagK40xEr4%2Fuploads%2FM8LryOTPv5zTsh09SMMQ%2FScreenshot%202026-09-02%20at%201.31.40%E2%80%AFPM.png?alt=media&#x26;token=0a985d01-55b0-4030-ae17-1e3c6dbaa73b" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="warning" %}
For deeper customisation of each widget, edit it in that widget's editor instead.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.roadmap.so/getting-started/how-the-universal-styler-works.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
