# Show discount pricing on Google Shopping

Get your Roadmap discount pricing onto Google Shopping with the hosted discount feed, registered in Google Merchant Center as a supplemental data source that overrides the sale price while a discount

Google doesn't show discounts. Shopify's native Google integration only carries a sale price when it's a **compare-at price** set on the product itself; discounts never reach Google that way, whether they're Shopify native or applied by an app like Roadmap. So while your promotion runs, your Google Shopping listings keep showing regular pricing.

The **Discount Supplement Feed** closes the gap: a feed Roadmap generates and hosts on your store domain, carrying your discounted products while a Roadmap discount is live.

`https://<your-store-domain>/apps/roadmap-app/product-feed.xml?country=<CODE>&productFeedType=secondary`

`<CODE>` is the two-letter country code of the market the feed serves, for example `NZ`, `AU`, `US`, or `GB`. Use the code that matches the currency the Merchant Center account displays.

The feed always runs in *Discounted products only* mode, and it only overrides the Google Merchant Center sale price (`g:sale_price`). Everything else on your listings stays exactly as your primary feed says, and when no discount is running, your primary feed's pricing stands untouched. On Google Shopping, shoppers see the sale price with the original struck through.

### Get your feed URL

In Roadmap, open **Settings → Google Merchant Center**. On the **Discount Supplement Feed** card, tick **Enable secondary feed**, then pick the market in the dropdown, click **Update Feed URL**, and **Copy URL**. Click **Save Feed Settings** before updating feed URLs, so generation uses your latest settings.

### Register it as a supplemental source

Unlike the bundle feed, the discount feed joins Google Merchant Center as a **supplemental** data source. It doesn't add or replace listings; it only updates the sale price on products your primary feed already lists.

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

#### Open your data sources

In Google Merchant Center, open the account's product data sources.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Add a supplemental source with a scheduled fetch

Add a **supplemental** data source, choose a scheduled fetch, and enter your discount feed URL.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Repeat per market

Selling in several markets with separate Merchant Center accounts? Each account gets its own URL: that market's store domain with the matching country code, generated from the market dropdown in Roadmap's feed settings.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

{% hint style="info" %}
Only discounts visible to every customer enter the feed. Discounts restricted by customer tag or segment are excluded, since Google shows one price to everyone.
{% endhint %}

### Timing

Feed content refreshes daily, and Google fetches it on its own schedule on top of that. Expect a short lag between starting or ending a discount and Google Shopping reflecting it.

If sale prices show briefly and then revert with price mismatch warnings, that's your theme's structured data overriding the feed: see [Discount pricing not showing on Google Shopping?](/discounts-and-gwp/troubleshooting/discount-pricing-not-showing-on-google-shopping.md) for the fix.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.roadmap.so/discounts-and-gwp/using-gwp-and-discounts/show-discount-pricing-on-google-shopping.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
