What does a GWP look like when it works?

Usually, the gift appears as a new line item in cart.

What breaks a GWP most often?

Usually one of these:

• the offer is inactive
• the cart does not meet the conditions
• the shopper is not eligible
• another promotion overlaps

Should I build this in Roadmap or Shopify?

Use Roadmap when the rule depends on cart logic, product combinations, tags, membership, or automatic audience-aware behaviour.

Use Shopify when the discount should be native, code-driven, or managed outside Roadmap.

What should I test before launch?

Test one cart that should fail and one cart that should pass.

If eligibility uses tags or member tiers, test with a real logged-in customer.
